The ‘big
argument’ as far as atheism is concerned is how an all powerful and
compassionate God can allow evil to exist. If you think of God in the
traditional way as a being invested with an infinite number of blessed
qualities then the problem of evil remains unsolved. Advaita Vedanta conceives of the Self, One
soul which contains everything – good, bad and indifferent. Both good and evil have their source in God.
The attempt of the seeker is to go beyond both.
Please share your views on atheism. Do their arguments make sense? Have
you encountered proofs of the existence of God in your own life? Also, is it
possible to be ‘good without God’?
